The addition of this law firm web site brings us to a new milestone worthy of celebrating -- only two months after we noted an earlier milestone. Our Directory now serves as a gateway to more than 3,100 Minnesota lawyers practicing from one end of the state to the other -- up nearly 25% from our last report of the aggregate total.

We list some of the largest law firms in the nation, some of the most innovative solo practitioners, and firms of all types in between. We also list legal services organizations.

When we asked the Minnesota Supreme Court Attorney Registration Office in early March, 1999, we were advised there are 18,210 active, resident Minnesota attorneys. Some of them, of course, are judges, government counsel, and corporate counsel.

No one knows exactly how many of them are actually engaged in the private practice of law in Minnesota, since neither the Minnesota Supreme Court nor the Minnesota State Bar Association compiles that exact figure.

But ... assuming there are currently 15,000 (more or less) Minnesota private practice attorneys, we now list web sites for more than one of every five privately practicing lawyers in the Minnesota. That is up from one of every six privately practicing lawyers barely two months ago.
