If you're in federal court or considering going to federal court, you need to know the rules.
The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure govern civil cases in the federal district courts.
They are supplemented by local rules by the various District Courts. For example, the District of Minnesota has its own local rules numbered to correspond to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
